Max was very late for an appointment and desperate for a parking spot.

 "Oh Lord," he said, "Grant me a parking spot and I will become a better person. I will go to church and be nicer to my wife and play more with my kids and give more to charity."

Suddenly, miraculously, a parking spot appeared.

"Never mind; I got one!"
