We do not go to a man titled Father to seek forgiveness or any other thing.
The curtain to the Holy of Holies was torn during the Sacrifice of Jesus and there is now open access.
And here Jesus proclaims the only way to the Father is through Him

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

If you are praying to any Saint, any Statue, or any other person or object, past or present, may I recommend that you put away anything you are putting before Jesus. You may be at grave risk of idol worship.
